Mother TeresaMother TeresaMother wallpepar

Mother Teresa (born Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu, 26 August 1910 – 5 September 1997), was a Roman Catholic nun who started the Missionaries of Charity and won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her work with people.[2] For over forty years, she took care of needs of those without money, those who were sick, those without parents, and those dying in Calcutta (Kolkata), guided in part by the ideals of Saint Francis of Assisi.
As the Missionaries of Charity grew under Mother's leadership, they expanded their ministry to other countries. By the 1970s she had become internationally well known as an advocate for the poor and helpless, due in part to a movie and book, Something Beautiful for God by Malcolm Muggeridge. She did not think women had the right to have abortions and said "The greatest destroyer of peace is abortion because if a mother can kill her own child, what is left for me to kill you and you to kill me?".[3]
Following her death she was beatified (the first stage of sainthood) by Pope John Paul II and given the titleBlessed Teresa of Calcutta.[4][5]
Criticism
Mother Teresa received criticism over the years, especially in recent years as debate about sex andabortion grew. Christopher Hitchens says that, instead of trying to help the poor, she encouraged them to endure pain and continue to suffer.[6][7] Hitchens also thinks she was against ending poverty and raising the social status of women.[8][9] Hitchens wrote a book on Teresa called The Missionary Position.[10] In an article for Slate, Hitchens writes "MT was not a friend of the poor. She was a friend of poverty. She said that suffering was a gift from God".[11]

Anupal singh bhati

AIIMS Quickly Book Online Appointment for AIIMS OPD Doctor

Online appointment system reduces waiting period in AIIMS, but leaves out some patients

The Online Registration System (ORS), a web portal launched as part of PM's Digital India initiative, has seen over 46,000 online bookings since May.

Over 39,000 patients have sought appointments at AIIMS through the Online Registration System, a web portal launched by the Centre. (Archive)
Rajwati, who runs a boutique in east Delhi, needed help to get an appointment in AIIMS for her four-year-old daughter, who had been suffering from fever. One of her acquaintances directed her to the online appointment system.
“I sought the appointment on August 24 in the paediatrics department and got it the very next day. I never believed an online appointment system could be effective in a place like AIIMS,” said Rajwati.
The Online Registration System (ORS), a web portal launched by the Ministry of Information and Technology as part of Prime Minister ’s Digital India initiative, has seen over 46,000 online bookings since May in the five hospitals that are currently registered with it. The majority of patients — as many as 39,000 — have sought appointments in AIIMS.

On Friday, of around 400 appointments made till 9 pm on the portal, 308 were for AIIMS. Among other hospitals in Delhi, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital has booked 3,000 appointments since the portal was launched. Most appointments are for doctors specialising in ENT, orthopaedics and cardiology.
In the Sports Injury Centre, the only unit of Safdarjung hospital on the portal, close to 1,300 online appointments have been made, a majority of them in arthroscopy and joint disorders. Among hospitals outside Delhi, National Institute of Mental Health and Neuroscience (NIMHANS) in Bangalore saw 2,791 online appointments, and the Agartala Government Medical College in Tripura had 76 online appointments.
The computerised appointment system at AIIMS was a pilot project launched by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) last year, and, according to experts, patients have had the time to “warm up” to the online system.
“We have managed to reduce the waiting time for online appointments to the next day for all departments, except three. For ENT, which once had a six-month waiting period, the waiting period has now been reduced to a month,” said Dr Deepak Agrawal, in-charge of IT activities at AIIMS.
At AIIMS, the departments of medicine, orthopaedics and the R P Centre for Opthalmology and Neurology have witnessed the highest number of appointments, according to real-time data from the portal since its inception on May 7.
AIIMS had initially reserved a certain number of patient slots in the Outpatient Department (OPD) for online appointments, but now all OPD bookings have been opened up for online appointments. To encourage patients to come with a prior appointment, even walk-in patients who queued up for OPD appointments are given appointments via the online system, said Dr Agrawal.
“People who come with appointments spend less than two hours at the hospital. Those without prior appointments have to wait 4-5 hours and some of them may even get appointments on following days. That’s how we are encouraging patients to take online appointments,” said Dr Agrawal.
While Rajwati had to wait less than three hours to see a doctor, many other patients who come without prior appointments had to go back disappointed. “I came at 7 am from Aligarh to get an appointment for my father’s kidney problem, but all slots were filled. I had to stand in a queue to get an appointment even though I was one of the earliest to arrive,” said Irfan, a rickshaw puller.
“I did not know AIIMS had a system of online appointments. I cannot read or write, how will I get appointments online? I am worried because they are saying ‘if you do not come with an appointment, whenever you come, you will be given an appointment for a later day’,” he said.
When asked about this, Dr Agrawal admitted that AIIMS is yet to conduct a study on the socio-economic and educational profile of patients who are availing online appointments. “We usually try not to refuse poor, walk-in patients, and our staff helps them get appointments through the online system. Going by the high number of bookings, a wide range of patients are coming to us. This computerised system is the only way to manage patients better,” he explained.
However, on an average, nearly 50 per cent of those who make an online appointment never turn up.

Online Checkpost Road Tax Collection for Rajasthan other Satte Vahan

Online Checkpost Road Tax Collection for Govt. of Rajasthan

There are about 975 RTO's across India. There was a need to centralize the databases of all these RTO's in an attempt to make data available real time to all offices. The ministry of Road Transport and highways entrusted this job to the National Informatics centre as it does for other government portals. Thus was born Vahan and Sarathi, two portals that hold current data for all RTO's and growing.

Vahan:

Vahan serves all activities related to vehicle registration, tax, permits etc. Following is a list of these services to be delivered through vahan:
  • Vehicle Registration
    New Vehicle Registration
    Renewal of Registration
    Transfer of Ownership
    Change of Address etc.
  • Permit
Issue of National & Interstate Permit
    Renewal of Permit
  • Taxes
    State-wise tax calculation & Payment
  • Fitness
    Issue of Fitness Certificate
    Renewal of Fitness Certificate
  • Enforcement Issue of Challan Settlement of Penalty Amount
Vahan offers a search feature where you could access your vehicle registration information by putting in your registration number and last 5 digits of your chassis number.
Tried and tested for my 2011 Swift and it got me all the information.

Website for Vahan: https://vahan.nic.in/nrservices/faces/welcome.jsp

Sarathi

Services to be offered through Sarathi include:
Similar to Vahan, Sarathi offers a license search feature as well.

We missed this earlier. Late December, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways made it possible for anyone to send an SMS to 7738299899 with the message ‘VAHAN’ and a vehicle number, to fetch the name of the owner, vehicle name, RC/FC expiry date and motor vehicle tax paid upto time, reports the Times of India.
Other than this, the agency will also let anyone authorize the holder of a driving license, by sending ‘SARDL’ and the license number to 8790499899. The report mentions that there is a web application for the same, however we couldn’t find it. Messaging to the number did return the details of the vehicle holder, as mentioned above.
Interestingly, a Vahan website hosted by the NIC mentions that paid services will be offered to stakeholders like banks, insurance companies, transporters and even individual employers, which gives them access to a nationwide search over the digitized data of registered vehicles. This includes (pdf) address, engine no, chassis no, class of vehicle, permit type and various other details of the owner and the vehicle. However, it’s unclear if these third parties will be able to use the information for advertising or marketing purposes.
Interestingly, the Information and Broadcasting ministry had launched a free news SMS services in five languages, over the same phone number used by transport authorities to fetch an owner’s name, back in September 2014. The news service provides news to subscribers in their preferred language from AIR News Services divisi
Previous privacy violations:
– In December we reported that, the Chennai Municipal Corporation’s website lets anyone search for birth and death certificates, only requiring them to fill in gender and one other criterion from registration number, person’s name, date of birth, place of birth or mother and father’s name to display the birth or death certificates of Chennai residents or those born there.
– In May this year, as part of its initiative to encourage LPG users to pay market price and not avail the LPG subsidy provided by the government, Bharatgas put up a list of customers who opted out on its website.
– In April, the TRAI released the email IDs of everyone who replied to its consultation paper on net neutrality, providing another glaring example of how lightly online privacy is treated in India.
India has seen it’s own share of privacy nightmares: The TRAI wants a definitive date to make GPS mandatory, a draft encryption policy which weakened personal and business security but was later pulled due to an outcry (lest we forget the porn ban and the moral un-policing); but the rest of the world is not far behind. A Parliamentary Standing Committee on IT for 2015-16 is also looking into digital privacy after the Government said that Indians do not have a fundamental right to privacy.
MediaNama’s take: We’ve said it before, we need a privacy law. If you are an owner of a vehicle, essentially, anyone looking at the vehicle can figure out who you are. Thankfully, the SMS does not provide further information like the address of the owner, atleast not to general users. However, the lack of clarity on what the information can be used for by third parties is alarming. Digitisation is great, but not at the risk of individual privacy.

Sawai Man Singh (SMS) hospital in Jaipur has become the first state hospital to implement an e-registration facility for the pouring number of patients at its OPD. The procedure of issuing cards will now be digital, with the authorities now issuing cards through an e-system enabled.
This decision comes in the scenario of nearly 1.27 crore patients registered at OPD in medical centres affiliated with medical colleges and 9.27 crore in state medical institutions in the year 2014-15.
Such an e-arrangement at the hospital will help patients avoid the hassle of standing in long queues for registration, or even to renew it. Further, it will also help patients to be assisted by the administration on providing them time to meet the doctor.
Health minister Rajendra Rathore said, “In 2015, nearly 35,000 patients per day were registered at OPD at medical college-affiliated centres. Similarly, 2,54,000 patients were registered at other government medical centres. The pilot project to provide e-registration will be launched from SMS hospital next month.”
It was further informed that all those having Bhamashah cards can be the beneficiary of Bhamashah Swasthya Beema Yojana which ensures them free treatment with an insurance cover ranging from Rs. 30,000 to Rs 3 lakh per year depending upon the gravity of the disease. “The state government has collaborated with 292 private hospitals and 328 government hospitals. So far, 16,729 patients have been benefited by this scheme
